Michael & I will stay at Hotel Commonwealth. We have a limited number (~15) of rooms blocked off for guests that must be booked by 4 September (if there's high demand, we can block off more rooms). Please reference Fisher-Auerbach wedding when reserving. It is a quick taxi ride, or a direct T ride on the D line from Kenmore Square.
Hotels in Boston in autumn are probably not the cheapest! (Apologies.) So we are mostly leaving it up to you to find something that will fit your budget/desires/level of fanciness. Boston is small, taxis are easy to come by and the T is pretty great. Below is a list of options; if you go here, I've given you some hints on things to do in Boston. If you're unfamiliar with the city, the list might sway your decision as to where you'd like to stay.
A Small List of Hotels
When searching for hotels, you can look for options in Brookline (close to Alden Castle), near Kenmore Square (hub for all trains/near M&W) or in one of the neighborhoods that has great food (i.e. Charles Street/South End). Across the river in Cambridge may have more affordable options, and as I say, nothing in Boston is too far away.
- Liberty Hotel : old jail turned fancy spot (fabulous bar).
- Hotel Buckminster : right next to Hotel Commonwealth, where we are staying.
- Marriott Courtyard : 5 minutes to Alden Castle.
- Copley Mariott : classic spot, in the (fancy) mall, near ABP/great sports bar.
- Beech Tree Inn & Longwood Inn: Literally walkable to the ceremony site. They are small B&B's that looked charming when we drove by... cannot vouch for them personally.
- AirBnB: choose a local's apartment near Newbury Street or in the South End, for example.
